Why Practice Can Set Us Free

Through this class, Alanna teaches us that our yoga practice can indeed set us free.

Through this class, Alanna teaches us that our yoga practice can indeed set us free. Yoga is not a destination, but has always been a part of who we are. We just need to create the condition for yoga to arise in us naturally. Yoga in the western world can sometimes become over complicated, but it really is quite simple - through a dedicated, consistent practice, and through letting go of any attachment to what that practice brings us, we can calm and soothe the mind. When the mind is still, then the yoga has the opportunity to bubble up.

Alanna Kaivalya

Alanna is "the teacher's teacher" and is listed as one of Yoga Journal's top 20 teachers under 40. Her approach fills in what's missing in yoga: mythology. She is anti-dogmatic in all things, and her love of science confirms her spirituality, rather than negates it. Alanna’s vision picks up where Joseph Campbell left off — to empower people to connect with and embrace their humanness.
